Y-Diversity

As Hamilton’s diverse community grows, the YWCA Hamilton is committed to responding to the changing needs of the community. As a result, the YWCA Hamilton is undertaking a 2-year diversity inclusion project which aims to integrate and enhance the existing diversity initiatives by creating an organizational framework for all YWCA Hamilton program and employment practices.

It is our vision that this initiative will help all employees and members feel welcomed as part of the YWCA community. To accomplish this vision, we will also be conducting assessments that examine the current programs, policies and sentiments of our employees and members. These assessments will help us gain a clearer picture of our current state so that steps may be taken to enhance and improve our organization. We will also be organizing various diversity training sessions for our staff to ensure that all staff are continuously up to date on Diversity Best Practices.

The Diversity Coordinator will be working with the YWCA board of directors, senior management, community leaders and an Internal Steering Committee to ensure that this project is successful at every level of the organization.
