World YWCA Day

Each year YWCAs around the globe observe and celebrate world YWCA Day during the last week of April. Established in 1947, World YWCA Day has a new theme, each with the hope that member associations will enable individual members to carry out local actions relevant to the theme.

2009 World YWCA Day’s theme was ‘Women Creating a Safer World’ as the theme built upon the upcoming World Council Meeting in Zurich in 2011.

 

YWCA Hamilton celebrate World YWCA Day 2009 with a special evening with Canadian Senator Mobina Jaffer.
