Developmental Services Values Statement

All residences provide 24 hour support and supervision within the Hamilton community with emphasis on life skills development, independence and community participation.

YWCA CSP Staff provide supports to adults with a developmental disability in their own home. Supports provided are based on individualized needs in all areas of daily living skills. The emphasis is on skill building development and increasing or maintain their independence.
Recreation & Leisure Activities are also offered regularly to provide opportunities to enhance social skills and develop meaningful friendships.
Passport Initiative/Direct Funding
- This initiative of MCSS provides funding for individuals with a confirmed developmental disability through Passport individuals can participate in activities that enhances their quality of life and assists them with achieving their personal development goals.
- Passports provides funding to bridge services for younger adults leaving the school system to the adult services sector.
- Support may involve community participation, employment opportunities, leisure activities, life skill development, respite for families, etc.
Community Participation Programs (Day Program Division)
- C.A.S.S.- Community Access Services for Seniors - This day program provides older developmentally disabled adults the opportunity with supports to participate in structured community based recreational and leisure activities. The emphasis of programming is on increasing or maintaining their social, physical and emotional well-being and thereby enhancing their overall quality of life.
- Y’Art - Therapeutic Art - This day program offered 3 days per week for younger adults with a developmental disability with a focus on self expression and creativity through various art mediums. This program enhances communication, growth and community awareness skills.
