Did you know…
…that 212 women had a safe place to rest 3044 times during last winter’s coldest months at Carole Anne’s Place, YWCA Hamilton’s out-of-the-cold emergency shelter?
…that YWCA Hamilton provided 5,988 hours of training to 976 staff last year – an increase of 2,508 hours over the previous year?
…that 39 women completed safety plans in order to leave their abusers with the support of YWCA Hamilton staff?
This is just a snapshot of what YWCA Hamilton has accomplished in the past year – and you can find out more in our annual Impact Report.
The Impact Report offers a summary of YWCA Hamilton’s work in the community, from how many clients we serve in our Developmental Services programs (342 in total) to the number of hours of South Asian Punjabi programming provided to 105 senior Punjabi women (4,141, to be exact).
This year, our Impact Report – which covers the fiscal year from 2019 to 2020 – includes our response to the Covid-19 pandemic, including the results of our Covid-19 response campaign. That effort raised $24,000 to support our pandemic response, as well as generating over $15,000 worth of in-kind donations for programs and collecting 7,000+ pieces of personal protective equipment to ensure the ongoing safety of our staff and clients.
It also details the results of our marquee fundraising events, including Women of Distinction – which $227,500 raised while honouring 76 nominees – and our first-ever virtual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, which saw 571 walkers raise $150,000.
The Impact Report is available for you to read online to learn more about our programs and our work to improve the lives of girls, women, and families – none of which is possible without your continued support.
