It’s time to celebrate the phenomenal women of Hamilton and Halton at the 46th annual Women of Distinction Awards!
In honour of International Women’s Day, YWCA Hamilton is once again celebrating the fierce trailblazers that build our Hamilton and Halton communities.
We are planning an exciting new format for this year’s gala on March 3, 2022, that will allow you to choose your unique viewing experience. Presented by ArcelorMittal Dofasco, our unique hybrid event will have two options: a virtual livestream event that will allow you to watch the awards from the comfort of home, and an in-person option at the at The Hamilton Convention Centre by Carmen’s.
Both the in-person and virtual options include dinner, a box full or treats and surprises, access to raffles, draws, a virtual auction and more. Tickets to attend the 2022 Women of Distinction Awards Gala go on sale January 2022, so please mark your calendars!
Nominations are now open – so be sure to celebrate the accomplishments of a changemaker in Hamilton and Halton by nominating her for an award. This year’s awards feature eight categories: Arts/Culture/Design; Business Leadership/Entrepreneurship/Innovation; Community Leadership; Education/Training /Development; Health/Recreation; Research/Science/Technology/Trades; Young Trailblazer (25 and under); and Lifetime Achievement.
Any woman or young trailblazer who has contributed to building Hamilton or Halton, who meets the award criteria, and is not a previous award winner is eligible for nomination (though current members of the YWCA Hamilton Board of Directors, employees of YWCA Hamilton, or members of the YWCA Hamilton Philanthropy Committee are not eligible). Nominees could be role models, agents for change, volunteers, mentors, teachers, or innovators. You almost certainly know someone who could be nominated!
We will be introducing our 2022 nominees at our category unveilings kicking off on February 7, 2022 when you can hear them share their stories of empowerment and leadership. Our unveilings are open to the public and free to attend.
We are so excited to shine a light on the women who build each other up, who strengthen our community, and change our world for the better!
Please join us as we celebrate our 2022 Women of Distinction!
