Quick EscapeWhen we began planning our 2022 Women of Distinction Awards, we imagined a ground-breaking hybrid gala format that would have allowed guests to choose whether they’d like to attend an in-person event or watch online from the comfort of home.
But as we all know, Covid-19 has a way of disrupting even the best-laid plans. (Thanks, Omicron!).
Given the unpredictable nature of the Covid-19 virus, and in the interest of keeping our community and our staff members safe, we have decided to move our 2022 Women of Distinction Gala to an entirely online format.
We’re certainly disappointed that we won’t be celebrating in person this year – and we know we aren’t the only ones feeling burnt out by screens.
But – the good news is, we know we can bring you an exciting and engaging virtual event that will celebrate the incredible accomplishments of women in our Hamilton and Halton communities.
This year’s event will build on the success of last year’s online gala and will also include an exciting announcement by YWCA Hamilton. Our distinguished guests will enjoy a meal prepared by their choice of several local restaurants, a specially curated gift box full of local goodies and will have access to raffles, draws, and a virtual auction.
We are so appreciative of the generous support of our sponsors, nominees, judges, and community members who are cheering us on as we make these difficult decisions. We couldn’t do this without you!
Covid continues to be challenging – but not even Omicron can dampen our excitement for celebrating the women who build Hamilton and Halton. We can’t wait to see you (online!) on March 3!
