New Mothers’ Support Services

New Mothers' Support Services

Connect newcomer mothers to local services and resources

Program Highlights:

Are you a newcomer new mother? Our New Mothers’ Support Services serve to connect newcomer mothers to local services and resources, provide meaningful networking opportunities, and support you in your post-partum journey.

Services:

The following services are being offered as part of the YWCA’s Newcomer Workshops and Networking New Mothers’ Support initiative. We are pleased to offer:

  • Our new volunteer assistance program available for newcomer new mothers in Hamilton and the surrounding area with infants 0-12 months of age and who may be feeling overwhelmed or at risk of postpartum depression
  • Providing weekly virtual (and eventually in-home) volunteer visits from a trained volunteer, for up to 6 months
  • Offering practical support and social interaction
  • Support is currently being offered virtually due to the pandemic.

Enhanced Supports

We assist our clients with free transportation, childminding, translation and interpretation services to make our programming accessible.
