Newcomer Workshops and Networking Program

Join us to settle into your new home and make meaningful connections!

Newcomer women, youth and 2SLGBTQ+  often face additional barters when settling into their new community and making lasting friendships when arriving to Canada. Our FREE workshops and networking program will help connect you to local services and resources.

Our goal is to help you make new friends, build networks and participate in your community in a way that is meaningful to you. We will do this through providing you with the support that you need to engage, to network and develop cross-cultural connections.

Events and Workshops

Join us to engage in unique events and workshops tailored to help you connect with your community. Together, participants will participate in information sessions related to health, education and housing and will experience cross-cultural networking and connections with local Indigenous peoples.

Field Trips

Join us to spend time experiencing local gems in our community and service providers that will support your settlement. Together, we will tour our local libraries, banks, community health services, parenting supports and more.

Virtual Programming

Join us to participate in our virtual programs and services aimed at supporting your mental and physical health while reducing isolation. From the comfort of your home, you’ll get moving with us and check in to stay connected.

In-person services are currently unavailable at 75 MacNab Street South and we are offering all programs online.  Staff are working remotely and are in touch with clients via telephone and Zoom.

Enhanced Supports

Join us to access a safe, inclusive environment to support you in a successful settlement and integration in your new community. Through our enhanced supports, we can also provide you with child care access, transportation and translation services.

When in-person programming resumes, our staff team will support you in providing care for your children while you attend our services. We will also assist you with transportation, translation and interpretation services to make our programming accessible.
