“Encore was a gift during this transition time and up until now.”

“It is 5 years ago this week that my mammogram showed a malignant tumor. During initial diagnosis and then all during treatment, family and friends are attentive and encouraging. When the treatments are over and in time when it looks like one might not die right away, people go back to their lives and we go back to ours, as it should be. However, a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment was not the end of living with that diagnosis and treatment. That experience changed how I live each day, how I value time with family and friends. The future has shortened, but I don’t know by how much. Life after diagnosis and treatment was difficult for me. Encore was a gift during this transition time and up until now. There is so much to learn about living after breast cancer. How to live an active, healthy lifestyle and finding hope and joy by being with other women who know all about this journey was and continues to be a gift. To see women who have fought breast cancer be physically active and happy to be together is a blessing.”

Funds raised from Move More for Encore will help more breast cancer survivors. With your support, we can continue to help survivors gain their strength, mobility and confidence back.
