Help Women and Children Rebuild their Lives after Violence this September!
Thank you to RONA+ Hamilton N.E for raising $11,000 in support for families fleeing violence at YWCA Hamilton’s Phoenix Place in 2023.
This year, funds raised will support survivors of gender-based violence across all YWCA Hamilton housing programs.
Funds raised will provide housing and gender-based violence support services including harm reduction, mental health support, counselling, and peer support to women, gender-diverse people and children affected by violence, homelessness and poverty at four main locations: Carole Anne’s Place emergency shelter & drop-in, transitional living program, Phoenix Place, and the Putman Family YWCA.

About RONA Foundation’s Home Sweet Home Campaign
The Home Sweet Home Campaign gives RONA employees the opportunity to get involved in their communities by supporting a local non-profit organization of their choosing related to the RONA Foundation’s mission. Throughout September, employees raise money in stores to help these organizations fulfil their mission or carry out a renovation or construction project.
About YWCA Hamilton
Founded in 1889, YWCA Hamilton is one of the community’s oldest and most trusted charities, providing critical services for Hamilton’s most vulnerable women, girls, gender-diverse people, and families. The organization’s mission is to provide meaningful, accessible services to build opportunities, amplify voices, and co-create gender inclusive and equitable communities. The YWCA’s impacts are wide-reaching, including housing and shelter services, child care and youth initiatives, employment and training programs, services for seniors, newcomers, people with disabilities, and more. YWCA Hamilton helps people move from poverty to possibility, homelessness to hope, and crisis to stability every day.
