Program Overview

This “Gender Inclusive Leadership Training Course” is designed and delivered for male supervisors working in skilled trades. It includes once-per-week training for 6 weeks.

Male leaders need opportunities to learn about the challenges and opportunities that exist in building and supporting diverse teams.

Through this unique program, we’re seeing big change happen in small business. Participant organizations are seeing leaders emerge and teams get stronger. Supervisors are seeing team culture shift to be more positive and inclusive.

The work is conversation-based and includes concepts like:

  • Understanding and awareness of gender in the workplace
  • Gender differences and identities
  • Power and privilege
  • Gender-based violence
  • Leadership
  • Communication
  • Conflict resolution
  • Action planning

Over 100 supervisors have been trained in Nova Scotia and Manitoba and they are leading their companies to compete for a more diverse workforce be creating a better workplace culture, the work continues.
