Welder Pre-Apprenticeship Program
YWCA Hamilton is offering the Welder Pre-Apprenticeship Program for women and gender diverse people at no cost. Eligible participants will be provided with technical training and job coaching to start their career in the trades.
Program Overview
Learn to join metal pieces using heat and/or pressure, follow specifications, cut and shape metals, fit assemblies, and utilize arc, gas, and resistance welding.
Program Offers:
- 25-29 weeks of training
- Employability and Job readiness training
- Financial and transportation support may be provided
- Support in finding PAID placement for up to 12 weeks
- PPE and toolkit provided
Eligibility Criteria:
- Women and gender-diverse people, 18 years and older
- Resident of and able to work in Ontario
- A minimum of grade 12 high school education or its equivalent
- Able to travel to training and work sites
Interested applicants may be assessed for Math skills (Ontario Grade 12 or equivalent)
