Nominations open October 1, 2019 and close January 3, 2020. Nominate a woman for one or more of our eight of our Women of Distinction Awards categories! Before you nominate, learn about each category and the nomination criteria. Once you have decided to move forward, review each step outlined in the “Nominate” section of the website. Nominations must be received by January 3, 2020 to be included in the round of judging to confirm all nominees.
Help us reach our event fundraising goal by purchasing a table or tickets to the 2020 Women of Distinction Awards on March 5, 2020. Tickets and tables can be purchased online and as a purchaser, you’ll have the opportunity to manage your table guest list and names of all ticket holders. Tickets are $130 each or you may purchase a table of ten for $1,300. Student pricing is also available for $65.

Your support will help close the equity and prosperity gap and provides recognition, validation and encouragement for fierce leaders in our community to continue to advance themselves and support the advancement of other women.
The event is located at Hamilton Convention Centre by Carmen’s at 1 Summer’s Lane, Hamilton, ON L8P 4Y2. The first portion of the event begins upstairs in the Chedoke Lobby and the event finishes in the Wentworth Auditorium.
The 2020 Women of Distinction Awards have been reimagined to enhance honouree, sponsor and attendee experiences. This year, we will share more about YWCA Hamilton’s mission impact through a seated dinner program to replace the Marche Dinner. All guests should arrive by 5:00 p.m. It is important to arrive to the event on time to ensure you receive the full event experience.
The Hamilton Convention Centre by Carmen’s will serve our guests a plated dinner complete with drinks and dessert. We will provide guests who are gluten free and vegetarian with alternative options and request that guests inform their servers about any severe allergies.
Guests may participate in the silent auction by registering online in advance, or by registering in person at the event on March 5th. All guests will be notified once the auction is live. Participating in the silent auction is easy and is conducted entirely via cell phone using “text to bid” technology. You will be notified via text message if you are outbid, at which point you may increase your original bid via cell phone to keep the bidding wars going throughout the evening. You will again be notified by text message if you are the highest bidder at the end of the event, and will be prompted to pay via a secure payment link. You may then simply show proof of payment on your phone, pick up your item and head home.

YWCA Hamilton provides a charitable tax receipt for all donation of $20 or more. When making a donation online to the 2020 Women of Distinction Awards you will receive an automatic electronic charitable tax receipt sent to you via email. If you make a donation to YWCA Hamilton through cash or cheque, you will receive your charitable tax receipt in the mail approximately five business days after making your gift.
