National Volunteer Week is here again, and there is so much to celebrate!

This year’s National Volunteer Week theme is “Volunteering Weaves Us Together,” revealing the strength and vibrancy of our communities through the interconnected actions we take to support one another. These diverse forms of sharing our time, talent and energy strengthen the fabric of our community.

From those who volunteer with programs like Good Beginnings, JOIN New Mothers Support, and the Imagine Day Program, to our powerhouse Philanthropy Committee, to our amazing team of event volunteers, everyone who has shared their passion, their time, and their energy is an important piece of the puzzle that forms YWCA Hamilton. Thank you to each and every one of our outstanding volunteers!

This year, YWCA Hamilton was finally able to return to in-person events, and over 190 volunteers joined us for events like Family Fun and Back to School days at the Putman Family YWCA, Walk a Mile in Their Shoes, the second annual First100 Women’s Only Golf Tournament, Supercrawl, our Holiday Market, and the 2023 Women of Distinction Awards!

Without volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to offer the breadth of life-changing and live-saving supports and services we offer. There are so many ways you can support your community through volunteering with YWCA Hamilton. We’re always adding new volunteer opportunities here!

Walk a Mile in Their Shoes is coming up on June 14, 2023, and we’re looking for volunteers to join us for one of Hamilton’s most exciting events. As a Walk a Mile in Their Shoes Event Volunteer, you can assist with a range of pre-event tasks and event day supports. Be a friendly face to the community by helping folks at any of our six activation stations. Apply to be a Walk a Mile volunteer here!

“By volunteering with the YWCA Hamilton, you’ll get a thrilling chance to witness firsthand how our values translate into tangible actions that benefit the communities we serve. You feel like you are a part of something greater than yourself. Volunteering with the YWCA Hamilton is inclusive, builds community and is fun! Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!” — Lidia S., YWCA Hamilton volunteer

Once again, we thank each and every YWCA Hamilton volunteer from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for being part of our mission and for helping us to make change in this community.
